St. Simons Island Marsh 1

One of my most favorite venues in the whole world is St. Simons Island on the Georgia coast. My family has been visiting this beautiful place at least once a year since I was 4 years old... as a matter of fact, it sometimes feels more like "home" to me than anywhere else. I have some dear friends and many great memories here,  I can't wait to get back!

Cows!

This is a familiar sight to anyone driving thru the countryside in Georgia on a hot summer day. These cows know how to stay cool. (I wonder if they are related to those famous cows we see on billboards all over Atlanta? Peach milkshake anyone???)

Three Happy Friends

We are having a heatwave (like everyone else in July)...
at least the geraniums seem to be enjoying it.

Waitin' for da Gumbo

Hot sauce is a family favorite. Ever since I can remember, my Dad has enjoyed it on just about everything! -  He passed this tradition on to my sister and me and his two grandsons... now, if I just had a little gumbo to go with the hot sauce....
